Uncle Sam's Flag & Gift has been the greater Spokane area's only dedicated flag store since it was established in Spokane Valley in 2005 by U.S. Navy veteran Lance Johnson. Now owned and operated by U.S. Navy veteran James Martin, Uncle Sam's Flag & Gift is proud to offer a full range of residential and commercial flagpoles, as well as international, state, military, civil service, celebration and sports flags.
Uncle Sam's Flag & Gift is also the Inland Northwest's exclusive dealer for Titan Telescoping Flagpoles manufactured in Idaho. We also offer local service referrals and supplies, including parts and accessories for traditional flagpoles used for indoor and outdoor display, and heavy residential/commercial flagpoles up to 80' high.
Over the years, our in-store offerings have expanded to include gifts, hats, clothing and various patriotic memorabilia meant to honor military and public service, as well as items for people who simply love their country. Our products are often displayed locally at area trade shows, fairs and festivals.
While we have previously been temporarily located in local malls, we now maintain a single location in Spokane Valley. Our business slogan is "Show Your Colors!"

James & Jenny
Hey there! I’m James, and I’m proud to say I’ve taken over Uncle Sam’s Flag & Gift. After years of working as a welder, I was ready to take on a new challenge. My time aboard the USS Nimitz from ’93 to ’96 was some of the most rewarding years of my life, and it instilled in me a deep sense of pride in our nation. Helping fellow patriots showcase their love for the flag feels like a natural calling for me. My wife, Jenny, has stood by my side through this transition, and she knows this is where I’m meant to be.

Our Founder
Lance Johnson founded the flag and flagpole business in Puget Sound after retiring as a Chief Journalist from the U.S. Navy in 2000, following deployments aboard the USS NEW JERSEY, USS INDEPENDENCE, and USS NIMITZ, and supporting major events like Mardi Gras and Seafair. He moved the business to Spokane Valley in 2005, operated storefronts in local malls, and opened the current Sprague Ave location in 2022. In July 2023, he sold the business to long-time patron and employee James Martin and is now semi-retired—though you might still spot him around the store from time to time.
